Dear Parents and Oak Staff,
I hope you and your families are doing fine.
As you know, last summer the difficult decision was made, to temporarily close Dublin Oak Academy for the 2020-21 school year, due to the general situation of the pandemic which caused a transitory drop in enrollment. It was hoped that, in the coming months, the necessary conditions would be met to reopen for the 2021-2022 cycle.
Although there are already some positive signs, it is a fact that there are still ahead months of uncertainty and restrictions.
We have studied the implications of a possible reopening; however, it has been determined that there are not yet sufficient conditions to guarantee the solid implementation of a program at the level of what Dublin Oak Academy has always offered. Therefore, we will make every effort to prepare from now, to receive students for academic courses, as of September 2022.
For now, Kilcroney Castle Camp still looks viable for this very summer. If we have a sufficient number of participants and COVID conditions have improved, it will take place as scheduled, from June to July 2021.
We are sure that, despite the great disruption that this crisis has caused to all, Oak International’s programs continue to be a great opportunity for so many young people to have invaluable life experiences studying abroad.
We continue to adapt and continually improve our programs in Woodlands, Oaklawn, Overbrook, and Le Châtelard to meet the challenges that arise and to respond to the trust that families place in us. We will also do so with Dublin Oak, even if it takes us another year.
In the coming months, we will be communicating the plans and their development, both for the summer camp 2021 as well as the academic courses in 2022 for Dublin Oak. I thank you all for your support and thank you for being part of the Oak family.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Manuel Diego, LC
President of the Board of Oak International Academies
